i got my power wire ran from my trunk to my hood but i cannot hook it up to my battery b/c i have side terminals how do i hook up the power cord

Either get a longer bolt for the side or cut away part of the current terminals rubber and fit the wire in there. That's how I did mine.

i'm not sure why you think you have to cut anything.
ring terminal on the amplifier power wire and it just gets put on the bolt and then you screw in the bolt.
