Got a 12'' Kicker L5 square sub, running on a 1100 watt crunch.... I just literally put the amp in and everything is wired correctly aswell as the amp power light is on and bright, my ground is sanded and bolted down, so the sub played for a good half the ride home then cut off out of no where. I know the subs not blown, all my fuses are good, my amp is still getting power.. ive changed the rcas, thinking it could have been that... no dice


any one willing to try and help a guy out, been at it for awhile now and im stumped

did you just crank all the gain and bass boost all the way up?

crunch amps are crap quality so expect the amp to be the problem.

for all i know you have a 2 channel amp that you bridged a dual 4 ohm sub on in which case you killed that bad quality amp.

All the gains and everything were minimal(set at lowest) and the amp is basically brand new,would the amp still glow green if blown O:?

yes it can still glow green and be ruined. that light generally just indicates there is power making it to the amp not that it's actually processing it.

if its not fuses or wiring then take the amp out and take the cover off and look for damage.

ya all the fuses and wires have been quadruple checked, and this isnt my first install so i know im right cause the car speakers all play fine, and i just swapped amps and it played for a min then cuts again

and you are sure you aren't wiring the ohms too low on the amps?

have you tried a new ground spot?

My ground spot is bolted to a sanded area of steel in the trunk it seem solid i suppose i could try more, id have to check i will in the morning and update ya, i got so mad at it ive been going on her for 1-2 days now so im out ill update tomorrow with more trials and errors

had to wire up a few more things on the sub didnt realize i had it with 2ohms when it needed 4 LOL i thought i had that to
