so im about to buy jensen 10 inch 2 of them both in really nice boxes is 75 $ wayyy to much for them and there both ported i odnt know what that means but what do u guys think> hes also letting me buy them in 2 payments but get both at 75 at first

couple things...

buying used without knowing the first thing about the stuff is a terrible idea

you haven't provided nearly enough information to say whether those specific subs are worth the money

jensen is crap anyways.

and before you go "oh well this is just one sub" it's more complicated than cone size and number of the subwoofer(s).

obviously spending more than this would result in better quality but its up to you if you want to stay in this price range.

you can't just throw any sub in any box.

you'll need to know the air space specs of the box to know if a sub is compatible.

I'd stay away from anything with Jensen on it. you can get some pretty decent used Fosgate or Memphis Subs fairly inexpensive (couple hundred bucks or so). As Subwoofer said, above, a sub box isn't just a box with a hole in it, first you gotta decide whether you want a ported or sealed enclosure, there is a difference..... second, each sub has air space requirements that must be met in order for your subs to perform properly. Doesn't sound like you are getting into any competitions, so we'll leave out the resonant frequency bit..... but there is a lot of math involved in building a box properly, but i recommend building one, and not buying one.
