1) Depends on if there is amp amplifier on the system or not. I have a 4-channel powering my mids and it gets very loud and stays crystal clear to a certain point.
damn near sounds like a concert inside the car.
2) Speakers in that car are better than what's in a Cavalier (although they are all very small, therefore not loud! (like 3.5" speakers)).
I've done a full system upgrade in one of those before and larger coaxials on an amp sounded fantastic!

Obviously if you can afford to drive a 7 series beamer you should have no problem dropping a stack to upgrade the stereo properly at your local car stereo shop.
