i was thinking about puting a system in my 2010 silverado ext cab, nothing exetreme just something thats going to sound good without breaking the bank
any ideas or suggestions

2: What is your budget?
3: What exactly do you want your outcome to be? (Good sounding music, or loud bass?)
4: And specific sub sizes that you prefer more than others?
5: How much trunk space do you want to use up?
6: What type of features are you looking for in a CD Player (aka Head Unit)? (Ex: USB, AUX, BlueTooth, etc)
7: What type of music do you listen to?
8: Is your stock stereo system amplified? (You may or may not know this)
9: Do you have Steering Wheel Controls? (Volume/Seek on the steering wheel)

yea the box looks right
not really unless i found a good cheap one but its not a deal breaker

$200-300 range for one without satnav. its as good choice if you want a far more convenient interface.

i'll get you a list together when i have a few mins extra

also is the stock stereo bose and does it have onstar?

it does have onstar but its not activated and i think the stock stereo is bose but im not 100% sure

now at this point its around $950

big 3 wiring upgrade would be the next step in this install.

basically you need to go measure:
the alternator to battery + terminal wire (should be easy to see and measure)
the battery - terminal to body ground wire (should be just as easy as the first)
the engine to body ground wire (this might require a bit of looking for from the bottom of the truck)

are your battery terminals clamp on or bolt type?

right now im on bolt type but i can run either just have to replace the terminals

keeping bolts is fine...and cheaper lol.

pick any color(s) you want. you can get reg colors(kca series power wire) but the neon colors allow you to match the paint.

you'll order the 1/0 gauge wire in how many ever feet you need(it orders by the foot so say your alt to bat+ is 2.5 feet you would put 3 in the box)

order each length separately because cutting 1/0 gauge wire isn't fun for anyone.
