Well here is the full story skp down to the bottom if you don't care.

I had a 96 Ford escort. I busted the engine on that because of a dropped valve seat.
SO I took my stereos system out of it

2x 15's Alpine Type S
MRX 110 Mono Alpine Amp

I also took out the deck and the amp wiring for it. I left the speakers in because my new car has good speakers

I now have a 2001 hyndaui elantra and I installed the subwoofers today.
When I was playing them today, 1 song ( Bangarang ) They stopped working

I think they are blown and I have a multi meter to test them but I don't know the exact setting I have to set the multi meter at to test them

Can anyone explain this. Because me makes no sense to me.

On my first coil, I don't get a reading when I have the positive inside the coil. ( Like the wire would be ). But when I put the positive on the bottom of the coil ( Flat part ) It gives me a reading of 1.9 - 2.1
On my second coil. Its pretty much the opposite of the first coil. I get a reading on the inside of positive, but not on the outside.

Does this make sense to anyone??

pop test them with a 9v battery, cheap chinese woofers never last

set the multi meter to 200 Ω, test the voice coil, one by one. You said it read 1.9-2.1? Do you have a 2ohm dvc sub? one side may read 1.9-2.1 the other side should. if a coil is blown it will read far outside 2.0.

I would test them with a AAA battery. put the battery between the positive and negative on the sub. It the sub moves your probably good.
