Got a

Rockford Fosgate R1200-1D (1200 Rms) Mono block

and wanting to hook it up to my P3 12" D212, 2 Ohm. (which is in its own closed box) and also another speaker....

Im going to go as big as I can go without making quality sound like shit or something like that.

I have a 93 Camaro so the truck is sketch, but produces awesome sound so imam get this box (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_62634_Ground-Shaker-PT-1-12.html) cause it will fit perfect in my car for the next 12" imma get.



So the sub I have now is 500 rms, 1000 peak and I heard that you should buy the same sub or the quality will not be as good, so I cant find the older model of the p3 I have now, but the new model says it handles 600 rms. (which is more than mine now)


Can I mix these two different rms power wattages to this amp? Does having all Rockford make it all sound better or should just buy a RE or something to setup with my p3?

don't mix sub designs. all designs have their own sound so mixing them gets you muddy sound rather than clean sound.

you can mix amp brands and sub brands but try to avoid mixing sub models.

now onto the main issue...your current sub is a dual 2 ohm sub which means it can only hook up to that amp @4 ohms or @1 ohms which realistically means you have to wire it @4 ohms.

if you get another 2 ohm model you are going to be wired @2ohm to the amp.

keep the amp and get completely new sub setup for those reasons plus the fact it needs to be compatible with a .98 cubic foot ported box which your current sub isn't.
