From the door speakers and amp that I bought and installed from above thread.

My issue is, whenever my headunit is powered on, playing music, or sitting idle, a high pitched noise (best I can describe it as) is produced from the front door speakers.
I'm not too sure what the problem could be.
The RCA cables?
Bad ground?
It gets louder as I turn the volume up more, it's constant and never stops.

are the rca wires ran with the power wires?

how is it grounded?

to see if its rca specific just switch the rca wires around. if its an rca problem then the noise will stop coming from the front speakers and start coming from the back ones.

Does this occur when you play your phone/ipod or when you are using the radio??

it does not occur during radio, but it does with auxiliary or usb.
I swapped the rcas and it stopped for a brief moment, but as soon as I started my car and accelerated, it started again.
I also forgot to mention, when I do accelerate, it gets faster and higher pitched.

where is your ground at? a thin piece of metal? i always ground my ground at either a thick piece of metal in the trunk that i pre drilled a hole and use a dremel with a wire wheel to remove any paint or finish or i ground it to the negative battery terminal. grounding your amps or any ground to a thin or piece of metal with a finish or a cating on it is no good. fortunately for me my battery is in the trunk so i only needed like 4 ft of ground cable for mine.

I didn't even bother to check the ground wire until now. It's through the body and into a thick plate underneath.
Perhaps this is the problem:

ummmmm.... where exactly is that located at lol. it looks like its exposed to elements outside but on the other hand looks like it has carpet, but either way i can tell you that ground is no good. to me that looks like a fire starter waiting to happen.

under my back seat. It's not exposed, lol, one if those obnoxious maple trees over my driveway and they fall in when the windows are down.
I swept it all out earlier today. It's not as close as it seems to the carpet, but it's current location caused the damage to the wire that you see in the picture, so I may have to move it for that reason.
Thanks for the help. I'll post back after I move it to another location.

you need to remove the paint wherever you ground it as well.
