I have a bazooka subwoofer that has an amp built into it. I have no use for it in my car for various reasons, so I was wondering if I could safely hook it up to the subwoofer spot on my audio receiver that is hooked up to my TV.

Or would bad things happen?

then its just a matter of wiring a on/off switch remote wire and hooking up the rcas from the tv

HOWEVER

it's not worth doing with that sub. that sub was super weak in a car and in an open room that has much more air space than the car did it will be even weaker.

It already has a built in amp and the receiver I have is 130W per channel. Not sure if that will cut it or not.

so you want to bypass the amp built into the subwoofer enclosure?

kind of pointless to do since you can just use the amplifier that came with the sub and you don't have to worry about underpowering or overpowering it.

either way i'd just forget about it because its not worth bothering with in either situation.

It's that or the sub just sits there un-used forever... and no I didn't mean I want to circumvent the amp, I am just not sure how it should all be hooked up.

then the receiver you have is irrelevant. if it has a built in amplifier it doesn't matter what your receivers amplifier specs are.

so like i said before you just need to power it and hook signal wires up to it.

So how do I power it? I guess that's the question. Simplest/cheapest method?
