So a little story to inform those that wish to help.

I drive a 2006 Saturn VUE and blah blah blah driver side speaker started going out.
Bought the replacement speakers - 6 1/2 that fits 6 3/4 (Was looking at the 2008 VUE specs, which are a BIT different)
Bought a new stereo - 7" needed to fit behind dash (only have 6.7XX")

Now here's my question: Is there anyway I can fit 6 1/2 speakers (that are made to also fit in 6 3/4 speakers) into a 6" slot - I'm willing to do some modification to make it fit.
Also, is it possible to get .3" to fit my new head unit or will I have to suck it up and get a new one?

tl;dr - wasn't looking at correct specs for car and ended up buying wrong items - wondering if 6 1/2 speakers and 7" head unit can fit into a 6" speaker spot and 6.7XX" dash space (space behind the dash).

spacer rings on the speakers and on the head unit.

you'll need to make the one for the head unit.
