Know of good speakers that put out good sound on a ford ranger 2wd 2 door 4 speaker 2003 stock head unit running it ?

if you are keeping stock head unit with no plan of upgrading then pretty much any aftermarket speaker is fine.

metra says 4 6x8 speakers.

if you want to get the most midbass area you can out of coaxials you can stick with 6x8s but there is the option of adapter plates and 6.5s.

also is ~$100 about what you are wanting to spend or what?
