Hello,

I'm looking for a sub for my car and I don't have the amp or the wiring just curious what would be the cheapest but not a pile of crap for my money.

Current Head Unit: DEH-P4200UB

Car: 2001 Honda Prelude.

Thanks in advance!

just go to any caraudio salesites than look for a sub+amp kit (in most package there will be a wiring kit with it + how to wire it :) i do say around 200 bucks for both amp+sub :)

i bought my first sub+amp (mutant) for 98$ :) in europe

What would you rate that?

The most I'd want to spend including shipping and taxes is 500.

This would cost around 260+Shipping.

I don't want it to sound like utter shit, I listen to the radio/metal/rap/pop/techno.

e/ I was waiting for you to post lol.

pretty much just as entry level as you can get without buying complete crap. that setup is basically "that'll do" not anything above average.

what mids/highs are you running?

also your head unit is fairly old and worth upgrading. by old i mean 3 generations out of date.

I don't know much about car audio my other speakers are infinity speakers with harmon throughout the whole car not sure what model # their the previous version to the new ones right now.

I know the head units old as I bought it when I bought my first car.

Is it really worth upgrading that badly?

a newer model would help with overall sound quality.

some of the advantages would be like:
looks better
free no commercial pandora for the rest of the year
better music processing for better quality music
pick your own colors for buttons/screen
mixtrax
better equalizer
better interface

not completely necessary but upgrading it would be worth doing if its in the budget.

how long have the current speakers been in use?

Thanks!

I was gonna upgrade my head unit to a double din however I gotta see what kind of modification I can do first so I'll get the sub for now then start looking into that because for the mod I'd have to change the a/c and heating to where the head unit is and then put the head unit where that is because otherwise the double din will be to low and pretty much useless.
