I had my music cranked up pretty loud one day and the bass stopped.... a few seconds later i could smell an electrical fire... pulled over and sure enough my Hifonics HFi1000.1d amp was smoking. so anyways my sub is a SINGLE Tsw3002d2... so im running it at a 2 ohm load so i guess i need a mono block amp that puts out 1000w at 2 ohms..... thanks in advance

did you mean dual 4 ohm?

on the box issue a round port..slot ports and aero ports(round) when done correctly are equal. the main advantage of aero ports is when you want to tune the box lower you just pull out the tube and modify it instead of having to build a new box.

what is your current box tuned to?

did you put the amp on the correct settings?

chances are a mix between a bad box and you messing with the settings to try to fix that problem are what caused your amp to die.

I was running the sub in a different box when it blew. and the amp settings were fine the gain was set pretty low.

thats what im thinking now 800w @ 2 ohm will still push that sub hard wont it?

again to clarify if it is a 2 ohm dual voice coil sub it will run at 1 ohm or 4ohm not 2 ohm.

the only way it runs at 2 ohm is if its a 4 ohm dual voice coil version.

if it is a 2 ohm model...i'm not sure how well its going to handle 1200rms watts.

if it is a 4 ohm model...yes 800 watts will be fine.

its not ur subs fault.. its that shitty ass amp.. if you must got with hifonics then buy a brutus modle by far their best line.. but If u want a amp around 1000 watts that can take a ass whoopin buy a audioque/sound qubed 1200d..
