Hey, i have already built one ported box with a large square port and i honestly didnt like the sound coming from the box it was distorting at loud volumes and yes i know it is the box because i have already put the sub into another box which i am borrowing off my brother and it sound perfectly fine just a little on the quite side. however the magnet was far to big to fit into the box and we had to cut a 22mm ring to sit the sub on top of to make it sit properly into the box. now i know little to nothing about car audio and was wondering if there was any box builders out there that could give me some specs for a new box with a round port? thanks in advance

Size 12"
Max. Music Power (Nominal) 3,500 W (1,000 W)
Frequency Response 20 Hz to 150 Hz
Sensitivity (1 W/1 m) 90 dB
Impedance 2 Ω x 2 or 4 Ω x 2
Mounting Depth 7-1/2"
Cut-Out Dimensions 11"
Recommended Enclosure 0.5 to 1.0 cu. ft. - Sealed box

The box you have now has a port which is MUCH too narrow and long. Tuning on it is way below spec and the port opening inside the box is way too small you are unloading and restricting your sub. I would make you a design but i am too busy atm.

You want your tuned frequency 35hz-40hz depending on what you listen to. Make your port about 2-2.5" wide and adjust port length it cannot be very long like your last box.

This guy designed my current box (it's like 2 years old now and has had two different drivers in it).
2.25'cu tuned to 30hz and the port is like 2.5" wide and 30" long. Hits looooow as shit!

DD Has a newly redesigned website with a LOT of info on box building, I haven't gotten to read it all yet.
