Kenwood Kac-8105D 1000-Watt Class D Mono Amplifier
$115
1000W Max Power
300 X 1 @ 4_
500 X 1 @ 2_
Thermal Management System
Speaker-level inputs with signal sensing turn-on
Bass Boost Control
Variable low-pass filter
High quality speaker level input and blue illumination
Preamp-level inputs and outputs

I'm no car audio guru, but Kenwood is a pretty well known name, and this a decent price, imo. Any opinions on this amp? I am planning on buying 2x 10" Kicker CVT shallow mount subs.

Before this, check out this site:

MUCH better selection, and better then amazon at times (if its in stock)
from the audio sticky:

What is the Year, Make, and Model of the vehicle.
What is your budget?
What exactly do you want your outcome to be? (Good sounding music, or loud bass?)
And specific sub sizes that you prefer more than others?
How much trunk space do you want to use up?
What type of music do you listen to?

in my experience kicker subs aren't worth the money, nor am i a big fan of shallow mounts heh
mb quart will probably be the suggestion on the amp though

Had my Kenwood Kac-8105D for about 2 years. It never got hot or cut out. Then all of the sudden it started to go out on occasion and this week it stopped working all together. No blown fuse, no burnt smell, nothing.

It worked good for awhile but no idea why it randomly took a shit...

do you have a digital multimeter?

if so just start testing pieces on the board. it could be something you just don't notice from the top. remove the board completely from the casing and check it again from the side and bottom.
