so basically a month ago I took out my amp and sub when I got my car painted and today put it back in and plugged it in.

everything looks hooked up right and the amp is lit up but its putting out very minimal power. The subs vibrate but not how they used to. cant even hear them actually. only by touch.

Any ideas what to do. I double checked my wires several times

are any of the settings on the amp off/turned down?

is the surface your ground wire attached to painted now?

Hm yeah so i just unplugged one woofer and the other one works great now.

I tested each sub in each channel and they work alone but not together...

are you sure you wired them to the amp correctly?

you know about ohm loads and stuff right?

hm yeah i double checked it all. it used to work great so i was wondering if any channels went out?

think i should try to rewire it as parallel?

generally parallel is the better choice.

is it a mono or 2 channel amp?

what voice coil arrangement on subs?

mono amp and i am not sure if the speakers are single or dual coil....i will check in the AM. few years old i forget

if they're old most likely i'd assume single coil, the easiest answer here is it's wired incorrectly, if you have 2 subs that aren't loud and you unplug one sub the ohms change therefore putting more power out to the one sub instead of the two where most likely it's getting cut in half.
