I'm buying another car becuz my old one was totaled, But when I do the audio after the car gets seen by my mechanic will be upgraded.

I know how to do installs my self along with taking sizes and what not. Now here is my question.

My old car had a pioneer deck with Pioneer Amp, 1-10 inch Kicker sub with ported box. fronts and backs were kickers as well. I know not great but it was something and it sounded pretty good, I do like bass but at times so I had my setup dialed low it wasent cranked to much becuz I turned it down and lowered the amp. But this time around I want somethign louder not just talking bass, I want to be able to turn up the mids and highs as well so its not just bass but quality sound. Bass can be turned up at anytime.

So I'm looking for good speakers and good subs to hit those lows when I want to.

I don't like to mix (Meaning kicker subs then alpine speakers)

So what would be a good setup? I was gunna use Alpines but I thought I post here to get a better answer.

the thing is you will almost undoubtedly be mixing brands if you want it to sound good and not cost you a ton.

would also need to know your car model so i know what speaker sizes you'll be using.

Not always.

Alpine amps subs and speakers..

Kicker amps subs and speakers..

Not saying I want that, Just saying I dont wanna mix speakers and subs, The amp does not matter as long as it is a good amp that has the power I need. The unit does not matter ether. Just dont wanna mix speakers and subs.

what im saying is alpine makes some okay subs but their amps and mids/highs are average at best.

same with kicker...entire line besides a few amps is average at best.

neither of those brands begins to compare with actual enthusiast brands either. sundown makes excellent subs/amplifiers and have some very promising 6.5 components being released the 30th. they also have high powered midbass woofers.

so you need to be very clear if you want just "better than stock" or excellent because my take on excellence is much different than yours.

I know that with alpine and kicker was using that as a reference.. Was in my old car only because it came with it.

I meant I dident want to mix anything. I'd love to have Macintosh if I could afford it. I'm also in Canada so my options are not too great. So give me some higher end products.

if you decided to forget your "i don't want to mix brands" and you gave a price point, i could give you some decent direction.

You're going to need a dash kit similar to this if you plan on replacing the hu

http://www.amazon.com/Stereo-Install-radio-wiring-installation/dp/B000KL0LJ4

After a second or so of searching I found that, you may be able to find it cheaper if you do some research.

Speakers are listed at 6.5 fronts and 6x8 rears.

Those should work fine.

Not bad. Yea, After looking at my car and doing up some research it seems I will need a dash kit. That's not a huge problem.

Looking to get duel subs btw. Would I need two amps for speakers and subs? If it's a duel sub setup?
