i just got a new 2013 mazda3 hatchback, traded in the smart car. i was using polk audio 6501 speakers with a polk audio amp. i want better this time!

i always see people with kicker subs, but what about their speakers? they have a component set, for 80$ on amazon. cant look up which ones currently.

would it be wise to do a full kicker setup?

kicker is an entry level company through and through. almost everything they have is average performance with a higher price tag.

did you get the basic sound package? from what i can find on 2013s is 2 sets of 6x8s(will want to use 6.5 adapter plates).

how much you looking to spend total?

Overpriced, overplayed. Kicker subs blow up when you feed their their rated RMS.

yeah the grilles look big, probably 6x8's. its one trim up from base model, still has base speakers. total, i wanna spend about 300$-350$ on front and rear speakers and the amp. i know its not alot to work with :(

not getting a sub right now, gonna wait on that.

i live in so cali, USA. so dont gotta worry about expensive shipping and such.

Also, with 6x8 speakers, am i gonna find a good 6x8 component set? cause it comes with factory tweeters. and is the quality on 6x8's typically just as good as 6" ?
i could always get a 6x8 adapter for a 6" speaker too can't i?

here's MB quart set, i hear they have good amps: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_33015_MB-Quart-PVL-268.html

So all you want is a pair of speakers for the rear deck plus an amp for them?

Do you have an aftermarket or factory head unit?

Will you be installing it all yourself?

Also - do you have standard or Bose system?

standard speaker system
standard head unit ( not looking to get an aftermarket one right now. i'll use a RCA adapter for now.
will be installing with a friend, we did the smart together ( wasn't his 1st time, won't be an issue )

i'm wanting:
front 6x8 component speaker set ( unless 6.1 set with adapter would be better )
rear 6x8 coaxil set ( same thing, this or 6" )
and an amp

i definitely don't want to skimp out, so if i have to i'll just get the amp and front speakers.

also, please keep in mind, i had polk audio db6501 speakers with an aftermarket head unit and polk audio amp, they sounded pretty good to me. and i traded in that car without taking any of it, so my goal is to get better speakers to make up for throwing away 250$.
so if i have to, like i said, i'll just get front speakers with amp, cause i want great quality sound.

and if i'm able to power new speakers without an amp, that would be great. don't need loudness. but idk what the HU outputs for power.
also, idk if amp would help in clarity so if it does, definitely want it in then.
