hello audio enthusiasts
I'm looking to put a pair of subs in my trunk without adding a deck but I was told from a "certified installer" that it would be a really expensive and challenging install to do because of the stock system
My car originally has a 5 disc Bose system, 6 speakers and 1 sub. What I would like to do is deactivate the Bose sub and throw my subs in the trunk and get them all working together. I do not want to add a deck because the stock deck looks really nice and fits in with the AC/heating and all those other settings so changing it up really seems like a big job and I don't want to go all out on it.
I was given a sub box from a buddy with 2 MTX 10" sledgehammers installed in it, they are white colored but I do not know the exact model or wattage or anything else about them.
a ) how can I figure out how much power my subs need? my friend can't remember either, theyve been in his basement for like 2+ years, he worked at future shop at the time and was given a really good price because they were store models that were discontinued or something
b ) is it possible to set this up without a deck on a stock system as complicated as Bose?
c ) what do I need to get this going?
Ideally, I would like to learn this myself, but if the certified installer was right about it being a big job I can always find someone to do it.
