first time in this section and would like some help getting a sound system together for my truck, dont have much knowledge with this stuff, going to do my best to do some reading and learn some more, thought it would be easier and helpful to post here seeing opinions and even read around on this forum to learn a few things aswell

1: What is the Year, Make, and Model of the vehicle. Ford ranger 2006 ext cab (small seats in back)
2: What is your budget? Not sure value of good sound system but, my budget is flexible used/new products lets say 500-800$
3: What exactly do you want your outcome to be? (Good sounding music, or loud bass?) want good sounding music and good bass (listen to a lot of dubstep, Drum and bass also rap/hiphop so need good sounding music to)
4: And specific sub sizes that you prefer more than others? thinking of getting 1 sub 10 or 12inch what ever is better, need help with opinions for this (was thinking about sitting it on one of the seats in the back and using the seat buckle to strap it in
5: How much trunk space do you want to use up? 1 seat in back
6: What type of features are you looking for in a CD Player (aka Head Unit)? (Ex: USB, AUX, BlueTooth, etc) (USB , AUX, Mp3 cds)
7: What type of music do you listen to? (dubstep, electro , dance , rap , hiphop, alternative
8: Is your stock stereo system amplified? (You may or may not know this) i would guess no, just plan stock speakers set up ( not the greatest i guess, probably need new speakers?? if its highly recommended then would most likely go for it
9: Do you have Steering Wheel Controls? (Volume/Seek on the steering wheel) No

you will definitely want to get new mids/highs.

going to need to know:
alternator amperage output
basic dimensions of where you want the box to sit. width/height/depth

shouldnt i get the subs and amp aswell ? just wondering cause dubstep is mainly all bass

if u think just the good speakers for the door would give it a awesome sound system maybe alone i could try that like you said to see how it goes.

its a ford ranger with the little fold down seats in the back
i would give it 2 feet from fold down seat to the seat in front of it.
as just thinking a box on the lines of 16in-24in long and what ever height it needs to be

depth is going to be the more restricting factor since common subwoofer mounting depth is 6-6.5 inches+1.5 inches of box+2 inches of clearance for the front.

plenty of space to fit one woofer back there in a little box

What would a good sub/amp be for my budget of 1000 ill go (that's 1000 for everything not just sub/amp), I noticed the wireharness only went to 2005, my trucks 2006, does it really matter or would I have to get one to date. The speakers you labled as "great" had good reviews I'd be willing to go for those. Old antenna cord don't fit those head units eh?
