im torn between FI audio / RE audio same shit and the hcca but lately audiobahns immortal has been grabbin my attention.
problem is im sick of blowing subs, got a single monoblock amp by performance technique called the ICBM 6,000W max, 3,000 RMS

so what can i puch effectively, wanna run it at a 1 ohm setup so only dual voicecoil seems my only option, that immortal has 4 i think.
whats yalls thoughts?

what is your budget??
I'm using sundown sa and nz series a lot lately for brute force.
But my favorite setup is using 2 x tsw3002d4 pioneers on 2 k rms. Im partial to these because they are cleaner sounding and lower tuned for daily styles.
I just pulled my focal mids and jl 450/4 and put in 4 x pwx 6-1/2" crescendos and a MB Quart ONX4.80.
I sold the jl and paid for the crescendos the mbquart and part of a new alternator. I thought i would get a little less quality and volume from the mb but i was wrong, My volume used to distort at around 23 now i can hit 28 before it hurts too much.
I still need to meter it tuned this low for shats and giggles

Not to pick you apart or anything but what do you mean the woofers are lower tuned for daily? One being woofers aren't tuned the boxes are and two daily can consist of any frequency range depending on your preference. I'm just saying man not trying to be a prick. and I highly doubt the MB Quart has anywhere near the SQ that the JL 450/4 had you must have messed up somethiing with the filters on your 4 channnel because overrated as they are JL makes some incredible mid stage equipment and the 450/4 is one of them, MB Quart is OK but definately no SQ brand.

Just my 2 cents.

yeah i love JL they just sooooo expensive for the little sound. never even heard of a JL amp blowing or anything, but JL number scheme 450-4 aint that 450 W max by 4 channel? thats pretty friggin low especially for subs i mean 2 channel max otherwise you're briding like crazy and if you utilize all 4 channels, lets say hook each sub up to 2 channels thats running 2 ohms over 2 channels knocking each channel down to 1 ohm (because of the bridge AKA bridging IS running in a series so if you calculate it - ohms @ the terminal is 1 ohm each terminal because of the bridge) idk a single 4 channel amp that can handle that efficiently. im hoping to spend about 200-300 on subs alone, yeah i know its kinda low but i think i can get some decent subs out of this i got a decent box, eventually i will upgrade to a sledgehammer port i love that design by mtx

you have a descent box? if you plan on using the same box we would have to know its specs because you can't just throw a sub in any box and it perform correctly.

and if you are only spending 200-300 get a single sub not a couple cheap ones.

also he never said he used that jl 4 channel for subs. he said it was on his mids/highs.

what have you done to your cars electrical system? you cant use an amplifier that needs more power than you can supply. you will not be running anywhere near 3k rms on a stock electrical system.

watts/14.4=amps will give you a general idea of how many amps you will be using. if its more than your alternator output then its not going to work. if its the same as your alternator output then its not going to work. if its 30-40amps lower than your alternator output you should be okay.

you've kind of screwed yourself by getting that amp. never get an amp before a sub and never get an amp like that without upgrading your electrical system beforehand.

Subwoofer is right. You will probably need a minimum of two batteries and a good wiring upgrade just to run a 3000w amp at half power.
That means spend money on Knu Koncepts, Streetwires or Tsunami and do the big three and from the alternator to each battery.
A custom HO alternator or a second alternator sounds like it'd be a great idea in your case.

You forgot the most important part.... What kind of vehicle?

resonant tuning not spl tuned and yeah the mb sounds better with the crescendos then the jl did with the focals. Also put a 2003 alpine cda 9815 head unit so that could be why as well. CD frequency response 5-20,000 Hz
CD signal-to-noise ratio 105 dB
and its 9 years old lol
I'm not a moron i just speak differently from what your used too. I actually scored 2x 99.9 Percentiles on a national curve in spatial relations and mechanical reasoning so I kinda think i know what I am doing as far as tuning a crossover. Ive been into sql for over 20 years and think i have a pretty decent ear for such things. So yeah, definitely not offended.

i must disagree. i have 2 batteries, one in the trunk with a 2 ft zero guage wire directly up to the amp. this wasnt a q? if i hooked it up right or none of that, just seeing what else was out theres for subs that can handle a lot. and ive found some fi audio XXX 12's for 2-300 a pc and those immortals ive found for decently priced. HCCA's are like 4

adding batteries was a mistake as they do nothing but hurt your power situation further.

each battery eats around 5 amps of static draw so all you did was take 5 amps off your alternators power output for absolutely no reason.

adding batteries does nothing helpful for daily use setups because guess what...batteries don't PRODUCE electricity.

think about how you use batteries in a flashlight...you use them until the flashlight dims and stops working right? going to work the same way in your car if your alternator isn't powerful enough to keep them charged.

your car cannot handle 3k watts daily without an alternator upgrade so don't plan running it with less than a 2 ohm load...assuming you even have the alternator power to handle that much.

go find out how many amps your alternator puts out...if its a newer car then the cars going to probably use 30-40 amps for basic functions and whatever is left over is what you calculate your capabilities with. chances are your alternator wont be capable of running 1000rms watts on top of basic functions.
