Hey guys, I just got a lexus es300 2003. I plan on replacing the speakers, and putting in my old subs + amplifier. Problem is, there is NO way this 2003 factory head unit is going to have RCA connectors. Here is what the front looks like ()

I don't particularly care for the CD changer, and I noticed where the boxes were behind the dash - do you think it would be possible to put a new head unit in that small enclosure? I feel like the top piece could be replaced with a newer head unit that offered RCA cables. If that were to work, do you think it'd be possible to apply all the controls on the dash to the new head unit? (i.e. aux, tape, volume, tune)

I'd really appreciate it guys. I'll offer 20fg for a concise answer :)

Alternatively, would it be feasible to buy a separate head unit to place in the glove box?

they are like anywhere from 20-50 bucks for the hi-low converter

Went to a car audio place and they mentioned a piece which would tap into the current car amplifier, and transmit the signal to my NEW amp.

Just checked out google images, yeah that's deff what the guy recommended

look up a line out converter and hook it up to the speaker wires of your existing HU. ezpz
