I put in a Pioneer 3300 head unit last fall and I did notice an increase in quality/volume, and now that I have a bit more money to work with would like to look at upgrading my stock speakers to something a bit better. Not looking for a thousand dollar sub system, just some replacements for the 4 stock speakers so that I can turn it up a bit more and not have to deal with cracking or worry about blowing them. I've done a bit of research to know you can get a decent set 6x9's for about 130 and 6.5's for about 100. But nevertheless, post what you think will work good.
Amp is a Mosfet 50w x 4.

Is an amp really necessary? Not looking for a knockoff sub system, I just want something I can turn up and have it still sound nice.

ok, i figured that was mostly from it being stock speakers from a pioneer head unit

and with an amp should i stick to speakers that are aruond 60-75 rms or should i go up a bit and they will be fine?
