don't want to a build a sub box.. no time at all and i would do a horrible job / it would look shitty / 16 year olds work.

what broke on the old box? did the joints come apart or is the MDF fractured or something?

if its just the joints just cut the carpet, sand off old glue,put in some new glue.

however with that particular box design it seems like its going to continue to be a problem since their isn't much of a center brace.

yeah but the thing about sonic boxes is the terminals suck, and idk my box just felt like it was un-glueing, and screws didn't help



edit: this review scares me : This box plays the notes amazingly. From high to lows, it will slap you in the face and keep coming 'til you can't take it. But like the guy before me, the walls flex as if they are goin' to blow. I have 2 Kicker CVR's in this, and the first week was great. Then, all of a sudden, I heard a vibration. So I popped my trunk, and found a line of saw dust on my trunk floor behind the sub box. Looks like the back wall was literally blowing out and creating dust where the nails are. So, I had to screw a bunch to stop the rattle, but it still bounces, and isn't very sturdy like the other walls. Very flimsy. Not too happy. Would not purchase again.

glue is the more important thing to keep a box together. screws and nails aren't even necessary when you use proper glue as long as the box design doesn't allow for a ton of flex(which i would assume that box does).

in your price range i'd probably just get one built at a audio shop or something. i mean for a couple of cvrs i wouldn't spend more than $70 on a box for them myself since they don't really perform all that well even in a perfect box.

and i don't really know what to say on that since 3/4 mdf is standard until you get into really powerful subs.

CVR 12's actually perform quite well in a good box, weren't you one to back Alpine Type R's yet you don't like Kicker's counter product? In my opinion Price/Performance CVR's are as good as R's in every way/shape/form.

so lets break down what you just said...

CVRs perform quite well
CVRs perform as good at ATRs
Therefore you are saying ATRs perform quite well

you said cvrs price/performance ratio is as good at ATRs price/performance ratio. therefore you are saying for the money they perform quite well.
