My amplifier says it is 1 Ohm stable I think i wired them to 1 Ohm last year but dont remember also currently have my speakers Bridged 1 speaker per 2 channels and set to sub only thru the rca on my headunit i also have my level gain set to 2v which matches my headunit
on some music the amp goes into protect mode i would like to know if im putting to much power to my speakers or if they are underpowered i Also have a Shallow sub box that fits behind the seat of a 1995 dodge ram 1500 SINGLE cab truck with a Flip up center councle i do not know how many cubic feet the box is or how to messure it it hits pretty hard right now but i would like to work the kinks out

ive been into car audio since i was in my early teens im in my late 20's and i know a little but im kinda stumped on how to adjust this amp/speaker combo to sound better then it is with out protect mode enabling

its not going to work right no matter what you do. 4 channel amplifers have no business being hooked to subwoofers. they screw up your wiring options and overheat too easily.

two dual 4 ohm subs+4 channel amplifier=8 ohm load per bridged channel. this means your subs aren't getting near enough power to function properly. when they don't get proper power the voice coil overheats and eventually melts and the sub is dead.

your amplifier goes into protect mode because the subs are trying to use more power than it can give out which causes massive clipping.

i can't even find rms ratings for that amp anywhere. all it has is peak stuff which is useless info.

subsonic filters are there so you can keep your amplifier from using harmful frequencies. like if your sub doesn't produce frequencies under 30hz you will set your filter to not feed it frequencies that low to your subwoofer.



you can't wire your subs to anything but 8 ohms each.

so i cant wire dual 4 ohm vcoils to 1 ohm or two ohm?

if you didn't have a 4 channel amp you could. that 4 channel amp only has 1 option for your subs and that is 8 ohms per sub.

which there is nothing wrong with doing.
one channel per coil. be sure that you dont mix signals, 1 sub should get 1 rca dont give a sub left and right signals give it all left or all right.

the problem being hes probably only be giving each sub 100rms or less and they require 400 each to function properly.

cvrs are already pretty mediocre at rated power so having a set on 200rms watts is a super waste of time since you probably won't get over 110decibels and they will melt the coils sometime in the near future.

he needs to get a proper amp or sell the stuff before its just paperweights.
