i have about 500-600$ budget atm for a good hard knocking system that doesnt sound like complete crap when your driving lol.

if you can find out your alternators amperage output it would help.
with your budget there is no need for multiple subs because you would just get two low end subs. 1 good sub will be ideal for your budget.

I would definitely recommend multiple subs or at least larger subs. Basically the way it works is power + surface area = more loudness. I'm using 3 12"s atm and on the same power the difference in loudness is very noticeable.
I prefer multiple subs mainly because you don't need as much power to get loud, making your own box will also make sure you get good sound quality out of it.
For mids/highs if you want quality go with component speakers instead of coaxial.

i mean't a larger single sub if you go that route.

more surface area > less power = less strain on your electrical.
