Went into bestbuy to get an aftermarket head unit for my car (2003 Chevy Malibu)

I wanted this:

They said I needed a 115$ wiring harness as well to use this.

Is it just the type of car that needs this or because of the type of unit I wanted?
Where can I get the harness cheaper or something?

does it have on star?
does it have a factory amplifier?

if it doesn't have either

if it does have onstar and a factory amplifier then yes you are going to have to spend ~$100 on it.

Do you have steering wheel controls? If so you need to choose between these two options.
Use my steering wheel controls, pay an extra $40-80 (not sure what the adapters run anymore).
Not be able to use SWC but save money on the adapter.
