I'm that person you all hate that has nice subwoofers and an amp, with just stock speakers. My stock ones are okay, but I still want to upgrade. Will it be worth it even if I don't get an amp to power them right away or ever? Is upgrading 6 x 9's worth it if I already get enough bass from my two Sundown SA-12s? Pretty sure my car doesn't even have tweeters so I'm not even thinking about that. 1999 Mitsubishi Galant.

The front speakers are 6 1/2" btw.

your car does have tweeters they are part of the stock coaxials.

So replace the 6 x 9's with 6.5s? How does that work out.
