1997 Honda Civic

Sound is only coming out of the passenger side speakers (well the front pass side speaker)

I know that it is a wiring connection issue.

I feel that I need to pop the head unit out and take a look at the wires (any advice for taking the head unit out, and what to look for "wire-wise"?)

or could the wiring be faulty elsewhere?

Running audio through an auxiliary cable by any chance? Those like to crap out.

what'd you do before it started to only play one side?

It plays on one side no matter if its radio, ipod, or cd.

Sometimes when im driving i will hit a bump and all of a suddden i will have sound coming out of all the speakers. So its crappy wiring somewhere (does any1 know if this could be resolved with the wires behind the Deck?)

yeah that'd be the first thing I check, your best bet is to take apart the radio trim and look behind the deck for broken wires on the harness.

Turns out a new deck fixed the problem. The previous owner put a deck in but didnt give the wires any slack at all, so the old deck was shot.

Now I have sound coming thru all speakers, and i upgraded the 2 front speakers. HUGE upgrade and now i actually have BASS. Only cost 150 bucks total

fuck i once had a RCA prong break off in the amp, luckily my old man has a tool i could wedge it out with very carefully
