ok so I have a buddy last few months all he's been talking about is how his system is gonna knock wen he puts it in .. and wouldn't tell me or anyone what he has or what was going in .. well he finally installed everything and I still have no idea what's in there because I wont even look at it.. it sounds like straight shit .. nothing but bass and the rattling noise .. now don't get me wrong I like bass a lot when you have the highs to go with it .. when the highs are there and the bass is hitting its awesome...well you can b sitting in this car and have the radio either as low or as high as you want and all it is .. thud thud thud and you hear no words. .. and the sad thing he loves it .. is all excited and thinks its the shit .. its ashame

ya its always disappointing when people do installs and have no idea what they are doing.

sound dampening to keep rattle down and a balanced setup should be obvious when doing an install.

the time I take on installs is usually 50% dampening and tightening. It also burns my ass when i see a job one of the shops did and they run the power and signal wires in the same run. 90% of the time there isn't anything done to the electrical either.

Totally, for my daily i use equipment with 92-94 sensitivity (db per watt for those who dont know what this actually means, in short the higher it is the cleaner the sound.) equipment and i ground rca's ect. But if i didn't prep the car first all I woulda heard was bzzz gkgkgkgk bzzz tatatata. I did a buddies car and he is kind of a slob and slowly i have been dampening it when i have time, it is a lincon towncar so it is tedious. Any ways i was riding with him one day and he kept turning it up and i kept yelling at him because all the shit in his car and the stuff he had hanging from his mirror was all unsecure anflopping allover the place. I told him I could make his stereo sound twice as good for $104.75. Next day I took his money, which he proably assumed was for a crossover of some sort, and took his car to the dump. Two hours later having washing the car out and vacuuming I brought it back and he was pissed because i took the 100 leftover after the wash but was amazed at how how big of a difference it made.
