I got an 08 legacy and I'm pretty happy with the speakers but I need an amp and a sub for sure, will 1000 be adequate? Id really love to get it to a point where everyone in the car can "feel the bass"

1: What is the Year, Make, and Model of the vehicle. 08 subaru legacy (auto climate ctrl, no nav)
2: What is your budget? ~1000
3: What exactly do you want your outcome to be? (Good sounding music, or loud bass?) id really like to feel the bass, the stock speakers are adequate
4: And specific sub sizes that you prefer more than others? no preference
5: How much trunk space do you want to use up? half the trunk can go to the sub/amp
6: What type of features are you looking for in a CD Player (aka Head Unit)? (Ex: USB, AUX, BlueTooth, etc) i was told my head unit cannot be replaced, it has aux so thats all i need
7: What type of music do you listen to? Dubstep / house / rock / rap
8: Is your stock stereo system amplified? (You may or may not know this) Not that I know of
9: Do you have Steering Wheel Controls? (Volume/Seek on the steering wheel) No

for $1000 your goal is easy.

you will need a new headunit and mids and highs if you want to add a lot of bass.

if you can go check your alternator output amperage it will help me know how many watts your car can handle.

so I went to a local shop, priced me at 990 + tax ballpark, hes the best in town, or best rated/recommended anyway.

$30 bass knob
$40 loc adapter
$75 cables
$300 4ch amp
$240 (2) brand = my choosing
$95 prefab sub box

$780 + wiring job = $990

again, this is a ballpark, but 210 for a wiring job seems reasonable to me

my question to you is, are these prices ~alright and what brand should I be looking for?

shop online and stop getting ripped off. wiring this stuff is as simple as reading directions and a 5 minute youtube video.

ill be happy to give you a list as soon as you get the alternator specs. you can't just throw anything you feel like in it and expect the alternator to cover it.

Bass knob? You don't need a bass knob.
You can get an LOC for $20
You can get a 4 chan amp for less
$240 for what? subs?
You can get a prefab for like $50. If you know how to cut wood and use glue you can build your own custom box for $50 to $60
$210 for wiring is about right for shop prices, but still a huge ripoff.

I wouldn't pay it. You can pay half this if you read how to do it yourself. Its basically just plugging in a few wires
