hooked my system up last night, pounded it all day today, and tonight I noticed my lights dimming bad when I wasn't on the gas.

Other than that, the new amp makes my subs sound 10000000x times better than my other one!

It stays at 14 volts, I just don't like it dropping while I'm at idle

I demo at 2k rpms, if im at idle ill drop to 12's but at 2k rpm ill stay high 13's 14+ on a dc power 270. You most likely would have that problem with most alts. However if your at 14+ full tilt on a stock alternator thats really good.

I'm talking about sitting at a red light or something, after my bass hits a few times my voltage gauge starts moving

Add in an extra battery, kinetik hc2000, or a xs if youve got the cash, that will stabalize your voltage if you wana beat at idle for cheaper and is a better solution than an alt.

So charge two batteries and a cap on a stock alternator

Just did the "big three" finally tho, helped a little but not a lot. Can't wait for my new alternator to be here Thursday!

Some retards on this forum seem to think adding batteries is bad its NOT. Chances are your maxing out ur alt as it is if your getting that much voltage drop so why not keep your amps running at a safer more constant higher voltage with extra batteries so they last longer. Adding batteries isnt going to make your alt charge any harder then it has been. Im letting my buddy borrow one of my xs d3100 bats with his stock 60 amp alternator without my bat he was dropping to 9-10 volts, now he can play at idle full tile with no dimming for 2-3 minutes at a constant at 13.7+ volts on a saz 2000, stock alternator. Obviously an alternator wont hurt but in your case you would notice a much bigger difference with an extra battery especially if you like pounding at idle.

Not really "pounding at idle", it's just when I stop at a red light it starts flickering. And I don't really have a spot for another battrry
