Well boss and pyramid are bottom of the line amplifiers to begin with. How are you setting your gains? What is your cars electrical like?

Sounds like you are giving it either poor voltage or clipping the hell out of it.

The input level on the amp, the knob you turn up that makes things louder. This is not a volume control, it is supposed to match the pre out voltage your deck puts out.

If you are just cranking this up you're doing it wrong. Also all bass boosts should be turned off, any loudness on the deck should be off, all bass EQ should be set to flat.

Also how are your subs wired?

the subs are linked together in the enclosure so i only hook up the one input to the subs

and the eqs and bass bost on the deck are off the input level was set about halfway

You need to find out what ohms the subs are and how they are wired. They could be wired too low of a load for the amp to handle and that is why you are frying them. Take DMM, set it to ohms and connect the leads to the terminal leads on the box and see what it reads.

Dude, don't post if you don't know what you are talking about. Underpowering a subwoofer WILL NEVER damage equipment unless there is user error involved, including setting the gains too high and clipping the subs to hell, giving the amp poor voltage, just a poor install...etc

Anybody that says they damaged equipment due to underpowering should be slapped for saying something so retarded.
