So I notice when I listen to CDs the quality is great.
But when I listen through my iPod via a aux to iPod, the quality is not very good.
I have almost all downloaded songs at the highest bit rate (320kbps) so this is not the issue.

I figure it's probably the fact that I have the iPod hooked up with a aux to a like mini aux thing to convert it to the right headphone jack.
So I have decided I either need a new head unit or a new way to plug my iPod in to my head unit and get a better quality sound.

So my question is, what is the highest quality sound you can get when hooking up a iPod to your headunit?
And, can I do this to mine with some type of adapter or do I need a new HU?

Willing to pay fg for this answer quick because I have one week until spring break nationals to fix this issue.

Btw I am a SQ freak so I notice very slight differences in quality. So it's not a huge difference from cd to iPod, but it's big enough to want to change something.

usb is the best quality you will get.

and mp3s are not high quality even at 320kbps. if you want the best quality you will need a usb port and .wav files.

So .wav files cannot be put onto a iPhone4s I suppose?

And what head unit do you recommend for under 200 with USB?

no .wav won't work with iphones. you can however use thrumb drives for them. usb will make a large difference so see how you like it after the change.

Any idea on where to get a large storing thumb drive at a low price?

newegg.com usually has the best prices for stuff like that. 32gb ones are like $30-40 i think.
