Ok so i just purchased the Soundstream RUB4.600 Amp, and I have 2 questions.

First is do these always run hot as hell? Like do all 4ch amps run very hot because my last one did as well (talking like so hot you cant keep a finger on the top of the amp for more than a second after about half an hour of use)

What is the difference between the RCA setup and the High level imputs (Has ch1+2 on top with 4 prong setup, and ch3+4 on bottom with 4 prong setup)

I currently have it setup with 8 speakers all setup for 2 ohms, but im using 1 RCA cable going from the head unit to the amp. ( Do i need another rca ?)

Everything is working fine and sounds great but idk why the pictures in the manual show 2 rca's like its needeed, or is it?

Im iso a answer to this before tonight ;D

Amps always tend to run hot, thats where heat dissipation comes into use. The whole channel thing is bridging, if you're using all 4 channels you wont be bridging.

RCA's depend on how your deck/amp are set up. I'm unfamiliar with the RUB4.600. You should only need 1 set though.

the manual show a picture of a head unit with 2 sets of rcas going to the amp with one set in ch 1/2 and another in ch3/4

i just plugged one set into 1, and one into 3 and it sounds great and everything is on

so idk lol

Iv never had an amp get that hot, sure you're not overpowering it?

RCA inputs are signal level inputs, as were high level inputs are just speaker wire inputs which I guess you could use if you had a factory HU? Iv never tried using them tbh.
And if you have a four channel amp, youll need one set of RCA's for the front two channels, and another RCA cord for the rear channels.

so your saying buy another set so i have a total of 4 rca wires (black/white on first set black/white on second set)?

Two complete cords, should have four ends. The amp should have a front left and front right input, and a rear left and rear right input. And the same for the HU.

/e and youll probably have three sets of RCA's if you're running two for a sub setup too.

im running a set to a hk4000 which powers a fi btl 18 ;D

How are you running one set of RCA's to a four channel amp and powering all four channels?

no idea tbh, but they are all on lol

and they are all getting a lot of power


just looked it up, most amps are set to be able to run on 1 set of rca's however it just repeats the stereo sound from the front to the rear if your not using 2 sets.

Which can take away form part of the quality of surrounding sound.
