Alright. So i spent about 2 grand January 2010 to install a new system. I went with all Hertz Audio (expensive shit).

at the end of the summer around august i started to notice my front speakers were distorting a little. it started out with the right one. but then took the casing off and realized there was a rip around the ring. i tried to fix it by using silicon caulking to seal it up. It helped a little but it didnt really stop the distortion. Then a couple months later i started to notice my left speaker distorting. there was no hole in this one. I've played around with both of them a little and noticed on each one around the ring if i push it in just a little on the corner of the ring i get my crystal clear sound back. can turn my music up as loud as i want and its clear as can be. i cannot figure out for the life of me how i am going to keep it pushed in a little. i thought about using clamps but that would just damage the the rubber and basically permanently hold it there. i just want something that can lightly push it in without it actually touching the inner part of the speaker.

Sorry if this doesnt make sense. if anyone has any idea please let me know!

And i would also like to add that it does not just distort at high volume, my front speakers run for $300 alone brand new, not cheap. I'm using an Alpine IDA X305 deck as well.

They're blown. send them back if they're still under warranty. If not then you gotta buy new ones.

i kinda figured they were blown but i was wondering if theres anything i can use to push an edge in. Because like i said theres a certain spot on each speaker that if i push the edge of the rubber in a little the sound is perfect again.

Don't do that lol. it will just make it worse. If you can't afford to replace them get a cheaper pair.
