I have 4x 6" by 8" speakers each being 240w. I need to know what size amplifier to get, Idk if i need a 240w or a 960w or something else. Also the amplifier needs to support hdmi audio input.

4x6x8? 4x6 is width and height so what does the 8 stand for in this?

peak or max watts are useless. if you can just give me the model number i can look up specs.

are you only wanting to amp 2 speakers?

hdmi input on a car audio amplifier? why?

I meant four quantity, 6"x8" and hdmi input because i am puttiing my msi windpad in my dash and it has hdmi audio out so i figured that would be the best jack to use. What I really don't understand though is how powerful of an amp to get for my speakers.

I can't get the link to kenwood to work, but these are the stats kenwood's site gives to them, there are 4 of them and I want them to all get equal power from the amp

• Max Power: 240 Watts
• 3-way 6"x8" custom-fit speakers (pair)
• Polypropylene fiber-textured cone with *Rubber surround
• Steel basket
• 1/2" ceramic tweeter
• 1-3/16" P.E.I. balanced dome midrange
• Image Enhancer III technology
• Frequency response: 25-25,000 Hz
• Impedance: 4 ohms
• Sensitivity: 92 dB
• Mounting depth: 2-7/16"

i've never seen a car audio amplifier with hdmi support.

you will need to buy a converter of some type most likely.

It didn't really give me any specifics, I got a good idea of the cosmetic work I'm goign to do from them but I still need to figure out some fo the components I'm going to buy, namedly the power supply to convert from the 12v battery and what kind of amplifier to get

just google some ipad installs and you will probably get a general list of parts you'll need. its been done quite a bit at this point and it should be pretty much the same thing.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22727_Kenwood-KFC-C6893PS.html these right?

in which case you'll need a 4 channel amp with 80W x 4 chan. @ 4 ohms(rms watts not peak or max watts)
you can do less door speakers are fine with less power usually.
