my driver's door speaker, and possibly tweeter, aren't performing perfectly. on some days everything seems fine, while on others it's clear that there's an absence of sound in my car, specifically from the driver's door

i took off the door panel today and everything seem's normal, though i'm not exactly sure on what abnormal would look like. while the panel was off i played some music (it was one of the days that it wasn't working perfectly). i found out that the speaker does have some output, but i can't hear it at all.

with balance turned to the left all the way i can only hear the rear speaker, and with balance centered it's pretty distinct that the only sound in the front is coming from the passenger door

any ideas on what's wrong/what i could do to check it?

could be ruined
could just be a bad wire connection
could be your amplifier

check wiring first if it works sometimes and not others. the wires that are hooked to the speaker itself and the wiring harness behind the radio.

it's all stock minus the head unit/harness which i just changed this summer. the problem was there before i put those in though

aside from cold solders what are other bad signs? i don't claim to know what i'm doing - i'm just taking it as i go

actually afaik each speaker has its own amp/circuit board. is there anything that i should be looking for on it?
