Mounting an amp on a subwoofer box
on the side/top of a box like this


do or don't?
screws wouldn't even be thick enough to go through the MDF/would seal if longer screws were used
this is not the actual box, just an example


Question:
Would you mount an amp on the box or off by its self?

i don't see the big deal.
i did it on mine. just saves the trouble of mounting it in the vehicle.

Off by itself obviously. Why put unneeded stress on your amp?

I leave my seats down, and put a piece of carpeted MDF ~2" behind my box.
I cut it to the length of my box so that it just looks like the back of my box, and it's just at the right height so that it's wedged in nice and tight.
It looks really nice from inside the vehicle, and means that I never have to unscrew anything to take my amps out. It all just pops out.

if your going to actually mount the box on the amp ( which isnt recommended because vibrations can cause internals to get loose), you have to do it properly with rubber cushions which absorb all the vibrations. Like Cadillac said i would make a separate panel for your stuff

Somehow today I was driving and my power wire came out of the terminal on my amp lol.

remote mounting is usually the best bet.
if you must then grab some cheap gel mousepads or something to put under it.

I can't mount mine to carpet because it pulls air under it to cool it

convert to liquid cooling by pouring a bottle of water in it.

problem solved.
