hi, i was thinking about putting some subs in my car again. i have a 1994 ford probe (small hatchback). it used to have some 12's in it, but i ended up selling them.
want to get some more boom, but was wondering if it would be more cost efficient to get 2x 10's vs. gettin 2z 12's.

my question is, what range are 10's made for and if connected to the right amp, could they produce similar quality sound as 2x 12's which
i know for a fact hit hard. all comments and opinions are appreciated.

it all depends on what 10s vs what 12s

if they are the same model but different sizes the 12s will be a bit louder than the 10s.(usually)

the other difference you look for is response frequencies. a sub like a 18/21 likes lower bass notes while 8s/10s perform well with higher bass notes

12's if u want abit louder lower bass

10's if space is an issue or u dont want too much bass

so if i wanted the best bass setup
indeally 12's AND 10's would be needed ?

Yes

That would be ok if you had a crossover that cutoff each sub at a certain frequency so that a 12 and a 10 arent trying to play the same note since they would make two different sounds.

As for the original question the 10's will always sound cleaner due to the obvious reasons
