im about to replace my 2x10 rf p2's

i listen 70 % techno / 30 % rap

when i play at full volume now the 2 10's cant hit fast enough to follow the beat, the sub goes out of sync with rest of the music

i got an vw golf 3 with a retarded small trunk, the box allmost use all space in there

i got told that there isnt enough air in the trunk for the subs to play properly. is this true or is it something else ?

if so, would be better to get just 1x t1 instead of 2 punches ?

or is there some better option to do than just buy 1-2 subs in premade boxes ?

Try a sealed box, much faster response.

i will consider that, ty

is it only cause of the ports that it cant hit fast enough ? or does airspace or other things interact too ?

So you think getting a bigger sub it will hit faster? No.

if you want a good response stick with the ten's and get a sealed box. It will be like a whole new machine.

lol no dude xD u missunderstood something ^^ . im sticking with 10's

if it was an air problem i would put 1x t1 instead of 2x punches, to get same power just from a smaller subbox with more air to move around, donnu if im retarded about this

next time i will go for an sealed box

but i still wonder, does the trunk airspace do anything to how the subs are playing ?

Get closed box. Imo ported hit's a lot harder though. Seeing as you're having a prob you will have to due.

ye, ported hits harder, and i asume that ported boxes dont normally makes the subs go out of sync ? so there must be some other problem allso, maybe something i can fix without using closed

there is only so much subs can do without spending more money. you'll need a sealed box for songs with pretty quick bass.

what amp do you have on them?

earthquake monoblock

Power 1-Ohm: 1 x 1000 Watts
Power 2-Ohm Bridged: 1 x 700 Watts
Power 4-Ohm Stereo: 1 x 450

rms w

i will try a sealed box and see how much that helps, then i might start with 1x 10" t1, and see how that plays with some more room, and then i can allways add another t1 at another time

btw, on the sub box it says 4 ohm, so i guess im running them on 450 rms w only, can i rewire them down to 1 ohm ?

its 4ohm dual voice coils, wire like this ?

i asume the box is made for playing at 4 ohms, will i screw something by rewiring them ?

these year p2s are like 200-250rms per right? so wired to 1 ohm would probably be hard on them.

if it is wired to 1 ohm then your amp is giving them too much power and thats the problem.
