Well I have a head unit picked out. (For aux inputs with my phone mostly)
I'm wondering which is better soundwise: circular 6" or 6-8"? haven't be able to make it to best buy(only shop around with a good car audio section) to test it out.
If I go up in wattage with these 2 kinds of speakers, do I lose a lot of sound quality?
Music: mostly hard rock/metal.

sound quality will depend more on the design and quality of the speaker than how much power they have.

oval vs circle speakers is more opinion based than fact based. both shapes are fine.

watts will let you know how loud they can get thats about it. off brand 160watts will sound a lot worse than good brand 75 watts.


technically speaking the speaker size becomes more useful depending on brand availability. high end companies tend to stick to "normal" speaker types and don't offer their stuff in many different sizes/shapes.

So maker-wise.. I should go something like rockford-fosgate?

6.5's have cleaner midbass than 6x8's
