the good ones cost about as much as a new head unit. so if you have an older/plain head unit just get a new one.

It looks to me like he wants to get FM frequencies on his iPod, not pick up his iPod through an FM frequency on his head unit.

Maybe this will help.

For $60 you could just get a head unit with an auxiliary input to directly conect to your ipod and would make your car stero sound better too.

Also no need to fuss with other signals fucking up yours

I think you're wrong :(

Dice electronics make a good piece, but it costs just as much as a new head unit.

Agreeing with the people saying get a new head unit... The quality will suck and you will only be dissappointed.

awesome thanks

are head units usually the same in general? are there things i should look out for in a head unit? the only thing im lookin for is an auxiliary input/usb port. are head units with a usb port usually more expensive? are there head units with just a usb port?

e/ btw, i drive two different cars (neither are mine). thats why im usin a FM transmitter. the portability is what im lookin for also. are there any other devices that i can use in multiple cars?

i will be buyin a used car soon. some of them have stock head units without an auxiliary input/usb port. answers to the questions will be appreciated

ones with aux and or usb's really are the same price, typically USB > aux because IMO

one with and AUX:http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item%5F31739%5FKenwood-KDC-148.html

on with AUX and USB:http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item%5F31733%5FKenwood-KDC-248U.html

or a cheaper one with both:http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_35575_Boss-612UA.html can't say i like boss, but yet again im not the one asking

bascily know what you want in a head unit both in things it has and how much you can spend

and FM transmitters:

a type like these kind of work, not the best, ones that go into the cigarette lighter like the next one works better

i used to use one like this:

wasn't the best , but it was alot better then the music on the stations around me
i either got it from Walmart or Bestbuy for like ~20$

I usually make AUX input on my headunits first priority. If thats all you need then just get any headunit under $100 at BB or walmart
