Problem with multiple subs...

600 watt amp @ 4 ohms bridged

You buy 2 10's with 2 ohm coils (or dvc 4 ohms)

You wire it to a total of 4 ohms...

300 watts per driver

You buy 1 10 with a 4 ohm coil (or 2 ohm dvc)

You wire it in 4 ohms...

600 watts per driver

Physically that 1 10 with twice the power equals the output of 2 10's with half power to each.

1 sub for the win!

forgetting about surface area

if i get a sub or two i'm probably going to have them/it wired on a 2ohm load either way, which would allow me to use a p300 w/ them/it

and i wouldnt be using a bridged setup unless you take a mono block to be bridged becuase the wire terminals go into two + and two -

if i could edit i would add the only reason that blanket is there is because i was sick of staring at a blank section with nothing on it

e) and any way of figuring out the ideal way to tweak the front and ratio speakers as far as the filters a kenwood kiv-900 has goes
not using an amp on my front 4x6 or rear 6x9's yet
highs can sometimes be tingy

No, I'm not. Each cone will only move at half the distance due to half the power. 1 sub with 1000 watts = 2 subs wtih 500 watts each = 4 subs with 250 watts each. As long as the single driver can take all the power, get a single driver.

I dunno man I just tried this and created way more pressure with 2 subs.

have the math to back this up?

if not idk why you make such claims when subs need surface area AND power to do their job.

Because when you double the pistons, but do not increase the power to the entire system, nor change the shown impedence to the amp, you effectively cut your power to each driver in half. Therefore, each driver sees a -3 dB output. Adding the second cone gives a +3 dB output. So therefore, -3 +3 = 0 difference

so its not better unless you consider space and money involved. they are equal in your scenario.

like i said its a balance and not just about 1 thing.
