the guy has a dual radio it's like this:

at first he had some 600 4 channel sony amp with a kenwood and pioneer sub
sounded like shit

then he got a boss 15" and lanzar 2000 watt amp
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_24661_Boss-P156DVC.html
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00370QJQ4/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_3?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000CHTI22&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=02ZAMGVJCN30Y7MQF2XG
he some how fucked up his remote wire from the radio to the amp
which both made the wire and the amp stop working

still sounded like shit

then he got 2x RE 15" and a kenwood 1800 watt amp
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_27308_RE-Audio-SRX15D4.html
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22574_Kenwood-KAC-9105D.html

so little room in his ranger it's honestly just sound like baffle

so, now he wants to buy two new subs like two alpine type r's or two kicker cvxs and use the kenwood amp

oh and some where in there he randomly bought a 1100.2 crunch amp

is it just me or is this guy just wasting his money and not have a clue what he's doing?

in my opinion:
buy a new head unit
buy wire that isn't 50% insulation and can be soldered to
and buy either one or two DVC subs

the guy sounds like a retard, hes probably wiring the subs incorrectly or hes one of those people who ports their box by cutting a hole in into a prefab sealed enclosure LOL

chances are the box isn't even close to proper specs for the subs.

the guy sounds like a jackass with too much money on hand lol.

he just uses boxes that "fit" within the "ideal" specs

kid complain about driving because it wastes his gas when his parents pay for his gas

i've tried to talk him into 10" or 12" and trying to explain to him to stop trying to over compensate

Get quality components and wire it correctly. And what does DVC have to do with anything?

i'm saying go with a dual voice sub, because every single voice he likes is shit

e) easier to wire to 2/1 loads, but seems not to understand that much

Any DVC sub you can get you should be able to get in an SVC line as well. The number of coils does not determine quality, just total impedence as seen to the amp. Sounds like you have a basic knowledge but for instance an IDQ SVC will sound the same as an IDQ DVC. Just depends on how low you can drop the impedence on the amp and how many subs you want in total.

-_- i've already talked to people about dvc vs single

i understand the concept of being able to wire the subs in 2 and 1 vs 4 and 8, and mono vs 2/4

and (not being an ass) i don't need to be lectured.

e) and why would you even ask the question if you answered your own question, if you get a single SVC sub you'd get a 4 or 8 ohm load, if you got a DVC sub you could get a 8/4/2/1 ohm load, the advantage to a DVC is the ability to change the load

so i'm confused why you would even ask when the brand is the only difference because he only picked either shitty models, wired incorrectly, or just sound horrible in his truck

and another thing you forgot is if the amp even have the ability to be used at the impedance that the subs are wired up as
