Car Audio Related: What kinda of systems do you all have?

Shit deck, but has crossovers only because my 700$ double din kenwood was stolen

2 1" bullet horn tweets
2 1 2.45 mid tweets in d-collumn

Sounds phenomenal, could always be better.

Who knew a 5.79 cubic foot box would fit in the back of a 04 tahoe...

uhh...that box is way too large for those subs :/

Maximum cubic feet per chamber is 2.25. 5.79/2 is 2.895. With the displacement of the L ports and the subwoofer it gets down there pretty close. It probably sounds better than yours imo. But that's just my opinion. I was going nuts one day and decided to build a 7 CUBIC FOOT box 3.5 cubic feet per chamber and tuned it at 20htz for p3 15''s. Never has bottomed out. Never has blown or smelt/sound like it is about to get damaged. All I can say is, if you know your shit about car audio, you can get by with nearly anything. But thanks for you input. It will not be taken' into consideration.

Not calling you dumb, but this is just how I do my car audio. I have had this set up for over 9months and nothing has gone wrong.

E/ Just looked online. The maximum req ported is 1.25. ROFL. Maybe I should remeasure the box. I haven't done it in awhile. But I may be getting my boxes mixed up. Give me a sec. sorry.

1. square subs always sound pretty awful and distorted
2. assumed sealed based because i didn't see anything in pic that looks like a port . the spots on top corners seem a bit small for ports on a box that large.

They are the elbow ports. They are on the inside in a pattern. Let me show you. Quick drawing. In a rush

Just redid the box volume. I got 1.89 per chamber. My old p3s were 2.79 per chamber. I have done multiple 20htz systems. I like it lower, not the punchy shit

E/ They are rear firing so the distortion can't be heard, but I cannot hear it even with the back hatch open. Like I have been saying in a few threads. It's all about how you build your box..

assumed the dark spots were wiring terminals or something lol.


square subs are designed to maximum surface area for spl applications so they have pretty crappy sound quality. its a trade off that some like and some don't and i'm not a spl person.
