car is model 525i 07 bmw (everything is stock nothing customized)

never bought a stereo system before, so i have no idea about anything.
i need a new stereo system, and an in-dash gps. like i said dont need anything with heavy bass, just a clear sound and loud. budget is flexible, but i would like to spend about 400 (maybe a little more) on the gps system, and no more then 200 on the speakers. help is greatly appreciated.

Nice car, You would prolly want to spend a little more on a gps headunit just so you dont have to settle for offbrand products like Jensen Boss Pyle ect

As for speakers when you put in your new deck they will be running off of deck power which is probably more then your stock unit meaning your speakers will all be substantially louder. If its not loud enough after your deck id recommend buying a speaker amp and components.

problem with that is its not actually gps nav until he buys the other part that they don't sell anymore.

when its all said and done a worthwhile in-dash gps head unit is going to start at ~$700 so you are going to need to a bigger budget or forget about the gps.

Since you drive an 07 5 series, you have some sort of good income.

Get a Kenwood DNX9980HD. Built in NAV, Bluetooth, iPod, etc. Even has lane assist which is gg.

i could spend 700, but i cant afford the 1500 one that avoid suggested, its obviously great im just not gonna drop 1500 on a gps.

any suggestions on which exact one i should go for?

Its more than just a GPS.

Bluetooth, Pandora, USB/iPod, AUX.

You can even get the extra part that hooks right up to your harness in the car.
If OBD2, the screen will display any check engine light codes and also gives you the option on clear the code (gg...)
