I'll go by his guide at the top and then I'll be looking for suggestions.


When making a thread asking people to price out a stereo system for you, please answer these following questions in your first post.

1: What is the Year, Make, and Model of the vehicle.
2: What is your budget?
3: What exactly do you want your outcome to be? (Good sounding music, or loud bass?)
4: And specific sub sizes that you prefer more than others?
5: How much trunk space do you want to use up?
6: What type of features are you looking for in a CD Player (aka Head Unit)? (Ex: USB, AUX, BlueTooth, etc)
7: What type of music do you listen to?
8: Is your stock stereo system amplified? (You may or may not know this)
9: Do you have Steering Wheel Controls? (Volume/Seek on the steering wheel)



1. 92 Ford Ranger (Truck) It is lowered and will eventually be bagged.
2. There's no budget as of now.
3. I'd like both a kickin' bass and clear / loud sound.
5. No trunk space.
6. I'd like suggestions on the CD Player (I don't know much about these)
7. Almost any music beside screamo and hardcore rock.
8. No idea what the stock is..
9. No steering wheel controls.

seeing as you plan on modifying the truck anyways you should go with a blow through box for the subs.

This is probably the only way I'll be able to go..

Doing this will shorten the bed by alot, correct?

box size depends entirely on what subs you get. for the average sub it'll eat around 1.5-2ft of bed.

you can do shallow mount subs as well if you don't want to throw monster subs in your truck. shallow mounts will fit behind your seat most likely if you don't want to do bodywork.

you're also looking at a pair of 6.5 speakers for the front right?

Could you tell me the pros and cons of both?

with shallow mounts you usually pay 2x as much for the same performance as non-shallow mounts. they also tend to less durable and be less clear. they are a niche sub for tight spaces and aren't really designed to be good performers.

if you do a blow through you can get the good stuff pretty much lol.

Pretty sure I don't want to go with shallow mounts.

alrighty so from here you'll need a shopping list so you can get a box together for the subs you want.

i'm going to need a dollar amount on this one because you can throw anywhere from $25 to well over $1k on a single sub.
