I know that its harder to put a system in trucks if you don't want to cut out the use of the back seats.. but i think i have enough room to build a box for under the seats and put 2 x 10s in there.
How much space should i leave between the floor and the magnet?
How much space should i leave between he top and the seat?
What should i make the box out of?
Does the amp matter as long as its putting out the right power amount?

This will be my first sound system hook up so any tips or advice is appreciated .

there is an alternative to removing your back seats. cut a whole through the rear of the cab and build a box in the bed.

anything under the seats will sound bad... look up some shallow mount alpine type r 10s or a single 12 and give them at least 1 cube of space each sealed and they will sound phenomenal while conserving space.

its what i'm doing if i get a truck at some point. ya its a bit of work cutting the cab but after thats done you can fill the bed full of subs if you want lol.

Defiantly going to have to look into that.

its the best long term choice for your situation. doesn't kill passenger room and no nasty space issues. down the line you want more subs you have the room to expand.

shallow mounts behind the seat itself is good if you don't have future plans and just want some bass without losing passenger room. you will be stuck cramming stuff places but it works if you don't plan on doing anything too impressive.

going to be a lot simpler for you to google than it is for me to link stuff because its all different truck to truck.

you are essentially cutting a panel out of the back of the cab/front of bed and facing the subs into the cab from their box in the bed. the opening you cut needs to be the same size as the subs like 12-13 inches tall for a 12 inch sub and so on.

you'll need to cover the bed or find a good way to protect the box from the weather like building them into a tool box or something like that. you'll use weather stripping or something to bridge the gab between cab/bed to cut it off from the outside.

i don't suggest doing this unless you plan on having the truck a long time or can do the work yourself for fun.
