So I just got a new truck and I want to figure out how to use my ipod with the factory head unit. I don't know much about car audio so lmk what my options are please.

I don't want to use one of those transmitters you plug into the cigarette port, don't want static/interference etc..
Is there anything I can buy that plugs into the back of the unit or anything like that?

I want to stay away form getting a new head unit, imo it would look out of place in the truck.

got a cassette player on that truck? if so u can get a cassette to auxiliary jack for it.

Since your truck doesn't have an auxilary port either (too high tech for those year trucks) then you'll be stuck with 3 choices
1) if u have a cassette player

3) new head unit

If you don't have a cassette the cheapest way of connecting your iPod would be option #3 quite honestly

edit: not only will a new head unit look better than your stock, but the sound is going to be better too to your speakers.
you can get a cheap JVC single din head unit that costs like 50-60 bucks. And installing it yourself is pretty easy too. but if u don't wanna install it you can go to your local car audio places and they'll install it for anywhere from 25-50 bucks (guesstimate) or if u have a friend who does that shit have him do it FO PHR33!

Just some additional information. If your vehicle has RDS (easy way to find out is to play a major radio station, and see if the Song/Artist names come up on the OEM screen).

If so, when playing your iPod off of one of these Dice parts, it will show the song you are playing from the iPod, on your OEM screen.

Another thing, the 2nd version comes with a USB port which means you can plug a Flash/Thumb drive into it and play music. It also comes with a remote (The 1st option does not) which WILL change the song on the iPod to the next song. So you can leave your iPod on shuffle in your glove box is desired.

What these do is create a very very strong FM signal, nothing like those transmitters from Walmart. They are so strong that they need to be hooked up to a switch, because with it on, you wont even receive any other radio stations. Its so strong that you get the quality of a CD. And it charges your iPod!

So I'm probably just going to look into a new head unit instead now, wanted to see if anyone has some suggestions on one to get.
I was looking at the Alpine iDA-X305SBT, leaning towards that one. Anyone have any opinions on this one or any other head unit that may be better for the same price or less.

iTrip is fairly clean and wireless..

Alpine is just "heh" with it comes to head units. They look good, but dont function that well. The Pioneer you showed me would be a better choice but those Kenwood ones I showed you are even better and most likely cheaper.

Get the aux cord. Cost me like 5 bucks at best buy and the sound quality is fantastic
